Reflection
To generate the alternate versions of my resume, I used prompts that clearly specified the industry and the type of tone I wanted—for example, “Reframe my experience for a marketing role” and “Highlight leadership, operations, and management skills.” I also provided my full resume so the AI could reorganize and rewrite my experience without changing the facts. The main difference between my original resume and the AI-generated versions is the focus: the marketing version emphasizes branding, customer engagement, and visual presentation, while the management version highlights leadership, scheduling, operations, and training responsibilities. This showed me how much wording and framing matter depending on the audience. I learned that effective prompt engineering means giving the AI enough detail to understand the goal but leaving room for it to creatively reorganize and enhance the content. I also learned how the same experience can be reframed in multiple ways depending on what employers value in each industry.
